Your Questions About How To Tutorial

Chris asks…Given 100 g of each reactant, what mass of ethyl ethanoate is produced?CH3COOH + CH3CH2OH → CH3COOCH3 + H20

Im not sure how to do this one, if any one could give me the formula or a link to a tutorial, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. :)poptropicahelp answers:Molecular weight of CH3COOH = 60.05 g mol−1
molecular weight of CH3CH2OH = 46.07 g mol-1

moles of of CH3COOH = 100g / 60.05 g mol−1 = 1.66 moles
moles of of CH3CH2OH = 100g / 46.07 g mol−1 = 2.17 moles

CH3C
